Welcome to the Western Oakland Meals On Wheels website!

The Meals On Wheels program is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization designed to serve home-bound individuals in the Western Oakland County area who are unable to plan, shop, or prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability, or advanced age.
Our meals are prepared and packaged by Western Oakland Meals On Wheels under strict dietary supervision. All of the meals we serve meet one-third of the daily nutritional needs of a senior adult and are approved by the Area Agency on Aging 1-B. Volunteer drivers then proceed along their well-diagramed route to deliver to our clients in homes and apartments within Western Oakland County Monday through Friday. Our program serves home delivered and congregate meals to over 500 seniors in Western Oakland County every day.
We also provide hot lunches at the local senior centers. Senior centers offer Fellowship and socialization. Lunch and activities schedules vary by center. Call you local Senior Center to make lunch reservations.

We Need You!
You can be the one who brightens someone’s day by knocking on their door and delivering a nutritious meal.
Volunteers do more than simply deliver a meal. They also provide a quick check in, a connection to the community and a warm smile. Often, the volunteer is the only person a meal recipient may see all day. And when children are part of the delivery team, our clients are especially pleased.
Western Oakland Meals On Wheels is dedicated to ensuring that every member of the community has access to nutritious meals so he or she can continue living independently. The Meals on Wheels program serves over 600 seniors each day in Western Oakland County with the help of local contributors and volunteers. Our program assists those who are unable to prepare nutritious meals for themselves because of age, illness, or disability. No one is denied meals because of an inability to pay. It’s our volunteers that make this critical service possible.
We also have many other individual and team volunteer opportunities to support the many programs we have, spark your creativity, and also deepen your volunteer experience. These are not time consuming volunteer opportunities, but they are however, very rewarding. Help make a difference in the lives of our seniors.
We believe that the meal recipient isn’t the only one who benefits when you deliver meals individually, as a team, or as a family. We think you will, too. Many thanks for your invaluable help.
